Lying in a Manger

It's getting closer!  Only 2 weeks until Christmas Eve.  It always goes too fast.  I love all the Hallmark movies and just about anything Christmas.

Most of my Christmas cards are made to donate.  This one is no exception.  It went to the Caring Hearts Card Drive.  Cards are collected and delivered to Nursing Homes.  I can't imagine the work that it takes to gather and distribute these cards.  Big kudos to all the wonderful ladies who give of their time.  I am not a fast card maker, but I did manage to make 35 cards and the envelopes that went with them.  It is a real privilege to do this.  I always wish I would have started sooner!

This beautiful stamp is by Unity Stamp Company.

Let it Snow {I'm Ready}!

I adore these cute little reindeer stamps and the sentiments are adorable, too.  This card was created for the I Feel the Love Project. The project this month is holiday cards for kids who will be in the hospital during the holidays.  Please click on the link above if you would like to learn more about this awesome non-profit organization.

I am not too pleased with the coloring on this sweet guy, but sometimes you just have to go with it.  :) I was trying for a plush reindeer look.  Uh oh, he is more of a "spotted" reindeer.  I think he will bring a smile, so off he will go to spread a little holiday cheer.

Project Details
Notebook - I bought a sunflower notebook at Michael's for $2.  I covered the notebook front and back with 3 different Anna Griffin Designer Papers.  I thought this would be pretty simple.  Not so!  I used Yes paste to adhere the paper to the notebook.  It give you some wiggle room, but is a little messy.  I then added ribbon and a doily, the image and sentiment.  Her dress is paper pieced.

Pencil Cup - Tin can covered in designer paper, pearls, ribbon, bling.  I added the image and sentiment.  The pearls were a real challenge.  I used Aleene's thick tacky glue.  I also lined the inside of the can to give it a more finished look.  My hubby's suggestion and I am so glad that I did.  I also added felt to the bottom of the can, so it will be soft on a desk and also a more finished look.  I painted the top and bottom of the can with folk art acrylic paint.  It took quite a few coats.

Post It Note Holder - I made this myself.  Very easy to do.  I covered the entire post it with designer paper and added the image to the inside. I made the rose on the outside with spellbinders dies.

I hope you enjoyed this project.  It was really fun to make.

I am entering the following challenges:
