Lots of Layers Challenge at Crafty Cardmakers

Oops!  I forgot to post my design for this challenge.  I have decided to make another notebook for this challenge.  The stamp and sentiment are from Altenew.  I used a Lawn Fawn alphabet for the notes.

Have a  beautiful week!

Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends!
Our fun challenge at Crafty Cardmakers is Tic Tac Toe

I chose to go diagonally from the bottom left to top right.
Summer - Ocean
Stamp - Mermaid
Dry Embossing

Here is my card for this challenge:

Oh my gosh, I just love this mermaid stamp from Impression Obsession.  She looks a bit ornery, don't you think?  The sentiment is too funny and is from Rubbernecker.  This lovely embossing folder is Taylored Expressions.

I hope you will join in the fun.
Have a lovely week!

Here Comes Summer Challenge at Crafty Cardmakers

This week's challenge at Crafty Cardmakers is "Here Comes Summer".

I always loved summers in Ohio.  I was fortunate to learn to golf when I was 14 and spent many cool summer evenings on the golf course.  This was my favorite time of day to golf.  I thought this Lili of the Valley Image was a perfect fit for this challenge.

I made a notebook cover for a 4 x 6 notepad.  I have made several of these.  They have been fun and easy to make and will a nice little gift to give.

Hope you can join in the fun!
Have a wonderful week.

Floral Profusion Challenge

Good Morning and Happy Monday.  Our Challenge this time at Crafty Cardmakers is Floral Profusion.  We would like to see lots and lots of flowers.

This is what I came up with for this Challenge:
I used Art Impressions Watercolor stamps and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.  The die is Gina Marie Designs.  A cas card, but I am happy with the way it turned out.

Our Design Team has some wonderful cards to share with you.  I hope that you will join us for this fun and happy challenge.  Flowers always bring a smile, don't they?

Have a wonderful week!

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - Add a Sentiment

Happy Monday!  I am hosting the challenge this time at Crafty Cardmakers - Add a Sentiment. I have been collecting quotes and sayings for years.  As challenges do, this one opened my eyes to the fact that even though I am a lover of quotes and sentiments, I have never used them as the main focus of my cards.  That is about to change!  Below is my interpretation of this challenge.

The background was created with an embossing folder and distress inks.  I used vellum on the top and heat embossed the sentiment.  This lovely sentiment is from Unity Stamps.  On the first version of this card, I added a pretty bow at the top.  I just didn't like it.  When I removed the bow, there was a spot where the adhesive held the bow.  I tried to salvage it to no avail, had to start over.   It took at least 7 more tries to get one that I could use.  I was about out of vellum and was going to use card stock, but "sheer" determination kicked in and yes, that is a pun, 😊 I finally got one that would work.

I do like the final look and plan on using this technique for future cards.  Hopefully, I won't have to buy a case of vellum!

Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing your cards for this challenge.

Have a beautiful week.

Pearls and/or Gems Challenge

Happy Monday!  A new, fun challenge at Crafty Cardmakers - Pearls and/or Gems and lots of them!
Can't wait to see your designs.  Here is mine:

I have to admit, I tore up my entire craft room for this challenge.  I took out every gem/pearl that I own.  Quite the mess!  I love this lattice die by Cheery Lynn Designs.  It cut like butter, as did the butterfly die.  It's a Cheery Lynn also.  The little flowers were made by a punch.  The butterfly is sitting on a My Favorite Things Die that was embossed.  I am happy with the cheery result.

Have a wonderful week!

Things with Wings Challenge at Crafty Cardmakers

Happy Monday!  A wonderfully fun new challenge at Crafty Cardmakers, Things with Wings.
I just couldn't decide.  There are so many great possibilities; angels, fairies, butterflies, dragonflies, cute little bugs.  So I thought I would think outside the "box" (pun intended) and chose to feature this little fellow below.

This is "Max is Flying High" from Sassy Cheryl.   He is off to some great adventure I am sure.  It only took a cardboard box and a little imagination!

I am looking forward to seeing your lovely winged creations.
Have a beautiful week.

"Go Green" Challenge at Crafty Cardmakers

Okay, my favorite challenge of the year, "Go Green" in honor of St. Patrick's Day.
Come join us for this fun challenge at Crafty Cardmakers.  We would love to see lots of green and/or a St. Patrick's Day creation.

I decided to go with what I love - a traditional St. Patrick's Day card.
The sentiment and shamrock are from Endless Creations.  The stitched squares are from MFT.  I added a little claddagh charm to finish off the card.
I hope that you will join us for this fun challenge.
Until next time.....

May flowers always line your path and sunshine light your day.
May songbirds serenade you every step along the way.
May a rainbow run beside you in a sky that's always blue.
And may happiness fill your heart each day your whole life through.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - Love Love Love

Happy Monday!  Time for another fun challenge at Crafty Cardmakers.  Our theme this week is Love, Love, Love.  I made this card for my hubby for Valentine's Day.

This sweet stamp is Sharing a Secret by Dreamerland Crafts.  I love their stamps.  You will see a lot more of them in the coming weeks.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.  I colored these cuties with Copics and used the Lawn Fawn Picture Frame Die to mount them.  This is one that is so much cuter in person.  It just did not photograph well.

I hope that you will join in our challenge.
Have a wonderful week!

Crafty Cardmakers First Challenge of 2017 - New Beginnings

Happy New Year!  Welcome 2017.
Crafty Cardmakers is back in the New Year with a lot of new and exciting Challenges for you.  This week's challenge is New Beginnings.  Please interpret it as you will, just please make it clear what is "new".  Looking forward to seeing all your beautiful creations.

Here is my design for this challenge:
Isn't this pup delightful?  He is "I'm so Cute" from Penny Black.  I used copics to color him.  This smile stamp is from Honey Bee Stamps.  I cut it out with my Brother Scan and Cut 2.  To add interest and texture, I embossed the card base and added twine.  The sentiment was computer generated.

I am very pleased how this turned out.  I am going to give this card to my daughter for her birthday.  She has a new pup coming to her home next week.  A little Golden Doodle.  I think this stamp could pass for a Doodle and I love the sentiment.

I am entering the following challenges:
Penny Black and more Challenge - Anything Goes
Penny Black and Friends Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes

Have a beautiful week!

Crafty Cardmakers, Christmas with a Twist Challenge

Super fun challenge this week at Crafty Cardmakers and a couple of great prizes too!  Hope you can join us. We want to see your non traditional Christmas projects.  Anything quirky and unusual, not typically thought of as Christmas.  You can also play along with a traditional project, but we hope to be inspired by your unique designs.

I have chosen this adorable stamp by Mo Manning - Bee Fairy.  I have never seen a Christmas bee, have you?  I believe she is all decked out to spread some Christmas cheer!

This was a fun challenge which really required a little "outside the box" thinking - not my specialty I'm afraid.  But that's what challenges are for, to get those creative juices flowing.

This card was donated to the Caring Hearts Card Drive.  Hope it will bring a smile to the receiver.  I will be posting the rest of the cards, that I donated in another post.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #270 - Anything Goes

That is all for now.  Merry Christmas to all!

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - Anything But A Card

I love the Challenge this week at Crafty Cardmakers - Anything But A Card.
I chose to do a candle.  Stamping on candles is just too much fun and quite addictive.

I used Ornamental Pine by Stampin Up and kept the design very simple.

All it takes is a candle, tissue paper and wax paper to create a fun candle.
There are several tutorials on You Tube.  Basically, you stamp your design on the tissue paper, color if necessary, cut around the design, place it on the candle, wrap with wax paper and use a heat gun and melt the design to the candle.  It takes a little practice to use the right amount of heat, but what the heck, just go for it.  They make great gifts and are so pretty.

Have a happy week!

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - Embossing

Happy Monday!  The Challenge this week at Crafty Cardmakers is embossing.  It can be wet or dry.
I happen to love embossing.  It just adds so much pretty to any card.

For this challenge I used a Snowflake embossing folder by Darice.

I embossed white cardstock then added color with 3 different colors of Distress Ink pads.
The tree is from Stampin Up, Lovely as a Tree.  I added Wink of Stella to the tree and a little bow at the top.  A few sequins, a nice sentiment by Just Rite Designs and this card is finished.

This card will be donated to the Caring Hearts Card Drive as well as the one below.  I was hoping to make 50 cards this year, but I will be happy to get to 25.  I am just not a fast card maker. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Have a great week!  Hope you will take part in our challenge.

Crafty Cardmakers Explosion of Color Challenge

This weeks challenge is Explosion of Color.  Lots of color, if you please.

This little mermaid is by Conie Fong and is colored with copics.  I also used copics for the background.  The seashells were hand picked at the beach by my granddaughter and me.  This card was for her 12th birthday.

Please come join our challenge.  We would love to have you!
Have a wonderful week.
