Happy Monday! I am hosting the challenge this time at Crafty Cardmakers - Add a Sentiment. I have been collecting quotes and sayings for years. As challenges do, this one opened my eyes to the fact that even though I am a lover of quotes and sentiments, I have never used them as the main focus of my cards. That is about to change! Below is my interpretation of this challenge.
The background was created with an embossing folder and distress inks. I used vellum on the top and heat embossed the sentiment. This lovely sentiment is from Unity Stamps. On the first version of this card, I added a pretty bow at the top. I just didn't like it. When I removed the bow, there was a spot where the adhesive held the bow. I tried to salvage it to no avail, had to start over. It took at least 7 more tries to get one that I could use. I was about out of vellum and was going to use card stock, but "sheer" determination kicked in and yes, that is a pun, 😊 I finally got one that would work.
I do like the final look and plan on using this technique for future cards. Hopefully, I won't have to buy a case of vellum!
Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing your cards for this challenge.
Have a beautiful week.
:) Pam
