Hello Everyone. Time for a new challenge at Crafty Cardmakers. The challenge is to use punches and/or dies on your card or creation. This one is easy for me as I use dies on almost every card that I make. Well, at least that's what I thought! After I started sorting through my various dies and punches, I found that there were quite a few that I haven't used in quite some time. I also discovered that I really haven't challenged myself enough in my cardmaking, so thank you to Maike for hosting this challenge and forcing me to think outside the box, even if only for this card.
For this challenge I used 'Lil Girl Prayin' by Phyllis Harris. I colored her with Copics and cut her out with a Spellbinders circle die. I recycled a cereal box and cut out another circle to give the circle some firmness.
I just received this Prayer stamp and die set by Simon says Stamp. I die cut it first then used a chalk ink to stamp the word. I think it is so beautiful. I love this lattice die by Cheery Lynn. Wow! It cut so easily, I was very impressed. I used Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card base. I will definitely be using this die more often.
I was really satisfied with the card at this point, but thought I would like to add some flowers. I haven't used any flowers or leaves punches and or dies for quite some time. I added various colors of flowers and some greenery. I really thought it overwhelmed the message of the card, so I carefully scrapped them off. There was still quite a bit of paper left, but these 3 little flowers were able to cover it quite well. I used a flower punch and edged them in chalk ink.
Another little story with this card. When I adhered the circle to the card, I looked and uh oh!, the words were not sitting right. Oh my, what to do! I stamped again and glued over the original stamp. Lots of saves for this card. Whew!
Well, that's it for this challenge. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a beautiful week!

Love it Pam. It's good to be forced to think outside the block occasionally isn't it.
