Emboss Me!

Hello Everyone!  Well, it's almost Christmas and time for a new challenge at Stamptacular Sunday.  Emboss Me! is the challenge.  Any type of embossing, dry or heat embossed. Okay, let's have some fun.

I decided to do heat embossing on my card.  I stamped Turn on the twinkle and used white embossing powder.  I always forget just how fun this is!  I decided to make a Christmas card since it will be my last for 2012.  Henry and Zoe are the stars of this card.  Don't they just make you smile?  I love this image.  It is from Digistamp Boutique.  This is one of the first places that I bought digital stamps.  I was just getting started, testing the waters to see if I would like stamping.  So - I started with a few digital stamps and a 50 piece set of Crayola colored pencils.  This is one of the first images that I colored.  I hope that I have progressed some since then. :)  I found out, yes!  I love it!

Christmas Candle

Here is a little candle that I made for one of my sisters for Christmas.  I love this stamp.  It is called Christmas Candle and is by Lili of the Valley.  The red is much more vibrant and a deep, dark red.  I could capture the red, no matter what I tried.

Project Details
Notebook - I bought a sunflower notebook at Michael's for $2.  I covered the notebook front and back with 3 different Anna Griffin Designer Papers.  I thought this would be pretty simple.  Not so!  I used Yes paste to adhere the paper to the notebook.  It give you some wiggle room, but is a little messy.  I then added ribbon and a doily, the image and sentiment.  Her dress is paper pieced.

Pencil Cup - Tin can covered in designer paper, pearls, ribbon, bling.  I added the image and sentiment.  The pearls were a real challenge.  I used Aleene's thick tacky glue.  I also lined the inside of the can to give it a more finished look.  My hubby's suggestion and I am so glad that I did.  I also added felt to the bottom of the can, so it will be soft on a desk and also a more finished look.  I painted the top and bottom of the can with folk art acrylic paint.  It took quite a few coats.

Post It Note Holder - I made this myself.  Very easy to do.  I covered the entire post it with designer paper and added the image to the inside. I made the rose on the outside with spellbinders dies.

I hope you enjoyed this project.  It was really fun to make.

I am entering the following challenges:

Stamptacular Sunday - Photo Inspiration

Hello!  It's time for another fantastic challenge at Stamptacular Sunday.  The challenge this week is to create a Christmas card using the photo below for your inspiration.

Our most generous sponsor is Paper Temptress.
I love her paper and use the Cryogen White for my Copic coloring for digital and rubber stamping.

I am using Holding Tilda for this challenge.  I created a frame and an easel for the "card". I kept this one fairly simple.  I used cardboard from cereal boxes to back the frame and cut the easel.  I attached the designer paper to the cardboard using my Xyron.  Yes! Paste also works well, but is a little more on the messy side. I forgot to cover both sides of  the cardboard with patterned paper before cutting the easel.   Oops!  I will remember next time. :) I really like how this creates a finished look.
